A paper by Long Wang (3rd year PhD student) and Shinji Kunitake (1st year PhD student) on the development of a carrier that enhances antibody production was published in Vaccine magazine and a press release was issued. It is expected that this technology will be useful in developing more effective vaccines.

We received the Best Presentation Award (Bronze Award ) for "A Guillain-Barré syndrome-associated SIGLEC10 rare variant impairs its recognition of gangliosides."

Through joint research with Kinki University and others, we have discovered that a rare genetic mutation found only in East Asia is accumulated in Guillain-Barré syndrome, an autoimmune neurological disease of unknown cause. It is expected that this will contribute to elucidating the cause of the syndrome and preventing it. The results of this research were released in a press release on November 25th. Click here

The "New Coronavirus Research Project Promotion Office" was established at the University's Intractable Disease Research Institute, and a new COVID-19 vaccine development project, led by Professor Takeshi Tsubata, was launched. Faculty members of the institute will build a collaborative research system that transcends the boundaries of departments and fields, and will conduct basic research related to the new coronavirus.
